Will Solar Panels Work For You?
Solar Panels are a way to power your home using natural light using a series of layers of semi-conducting material, usually including silicon. When light (sunlight) shines on these materials, electrical flow is started and the panels will generate power.
How effective are they?
Solar Panels are made up of around 10 panels and generate a direct current, which will be converted to alternating current once an inverter is installed. This is due to household appliances needing alternating current rather than direct current. Each of these panels can generate an average of 355W in the right conditions. Sunlight is free which means after the initial installation, no further payments are needed to keep them running other than maintenance. Not only are they cheap to run, but they cut your electric bill prices by a reasonable amount. Annual energy savings from solar panels can and have ranged from £200-£800 depending on how often electricity is used in the building.
Will solar panels work for you?
Many people across the UK think that solar panels wouldn’t be worth the money as British weather is quite unpredictable, however solar panels still operate in poor conditions. The panels do not need to be directly hit with sunlight in order to work, even on cloudy days electricity is being generated. Being in direct sunlight will obviously allow the panels to generate more than on cloudy days, meaning you have more to look forward to this summer. Don’t be put off the idea of solar panels because it’s winter, your panels will still work throughout the day and only become more effective as the year goes on.
Before we plan installation, our team will carry out a range of calculations to see your current energy use, and an estimate on the savings you will notice if you choose to have solar panels installed.
